The researchers at the Brain Institute found that phenylindanes, the product that gives coffee its bitter taste, helps keep Alzheimer’s at bay. Dr. Weaver emphasized that dark roast coffee is not a silver bullet for Alzheimer’s, although the research was promising. More research needs to be carried out before a definite cure for dementia can be announced.
